In this image, the roads are replaced by the porous green pavements, which support the traffic load. These pavements being porous and also green helps to cool down the large area which is covered by road.As the longitudinal road is the only one which might have heavy traffic, so, this is only used for vehicular movements, other axis might be less in use as there would be new transportation ways.
The open space on the right hand side which is a public space, used as the urban farming. The cylindrical unit is a vertical plantation, where trees are grown in different levels to provide the greeneries and to cool down the area. These units also provides shades to the ground where people unite for some open musical, social and cultural programs.
Some environment friendly tower or the tower which support urban greening and farming can be one of the important factor in the design.
Here, just some greenery are added to the public space.
Here, the different types of wind drafter is introduced than that of previous ones, these are cooling the streets in lower layer and people are even enthusiastic to sit in the cooler ground in tea or coffee break or waiting or just hanging around. The solar chimney is not replaced by new once but in this image, the traditional chimneys were modified and redesigned to adopt to the environment condition and work as solar chimney.
In this revision, I have changed the solar chimney and there are lots of trees planted in the streets, and the huge wind drafter in the front.
In this revision, the street wind drafters are introduced to make the flow of wind in the streets and for the number of trees that is required in the site as per calculation there is no enough space, so on top of the roofs, there are structures which are provided to grow more trees to absorb the green house gases and to cool the city.
In this revision, the solar chimney has been introduced in every old traditional buildings. The wind drafting towers are introduced which drafts the wind downwards to the streets. There are different kinds of vertical farming and planting is provided, so the number of plants would be adequate enough to cool down the city, as there is not enough land surface area, vertical farming becomes must.
There are lot of changes in this revision than others. Here in this revision, different techniques of green walls is seen in future, as well as the intelligent skin that covers the existing structure. The shading devices which is multi-functional are envisioned. The highly portable and flexible transportation system has been visioned here. The hover bikes, the bicycles, and mobile cars which can be docked in tram as well as in train as per human need. So, the future is more sustainable, more efficient and green.
In this revision, the concept of concrete roads are still in the focus as it reflects light which can play huge role in reducing the UHI. The tram ways, greenery in side paths and additional trees are added to reduce the UHI. The buildings have green walls as before which not only conserve traditional look also helps to cool the city.
The green pavements are replaced by the concrete roads, which are significant. And some of the buildings are covered by this thin membrane that can be implemented on the facade, which reacts as per weather condition. If the temperature is high then it stimulate higher reflection and vice versa.
This image shows that Paris would maintain its urban areas by adopting the future demand and needs, the solar towers, and electrical cars would replace the existing ones. The green walls, cool roofs, green roofs and greeneries will be the major part of the design integration. And this might be one way to mitigate the UHI effect.
In this image, the city has implemented green walls and greeneries on the facade of the building. The use of electric cars to low down the emission of CO2, to conserve the fossil fuels and the use of alternative solar energy is seen. The lamp posts are replaced by the solar towers which harvest solar energy and provides to the electronic devices, cars e.t.c. There are some green skyscrapers would develop there for increase in population. And some of the skyscraper might have high albedo material, which helps to reflect solar radiation to reduce UHI effect in the Paris.
This revision shows more green areas adopted in the scenario, not only the land areas even most of the buildings have green walls and green spaces to reduce absorption of heat by the large urban surface area.
Here,in this image it shows more drastic changes in the scenario, as, there was no roads in urban greening scenario which leads to change in the city orientation. As most of the population would shift to the city, the green skyscrapers and parks would help to reduce UHI effects.
In city 2030 transport will move from road to the sky and road will be a gardens to feed 10 billions of people. And will appear a layer of gardens on the roofs of old buildings, between old and new structures.
