In my final vision, I have tried given solutions to reduce the Urban Heat Island effect. Here, all the problems which are enhancing UHI effect is identified and for each of it various methods are used to solved.

Green Areas: The first attempt was to increase the vegetation, for this the number of trees which are required are calculated to reduce the UHI. But only amount of trees would not be enough to reduce UHI. The additional techniques like cool roofs, green roofs, green walls plays an important role. Green walls

The urban farming also might be one of the way in future to have greenery in the cities, as in future climate might change drastically, and the plants might not be able to adopt with climate. The city would be more denser in 2050 where food might need to be grown in special environment. Thus, the enclosed farming might be possible in future.

Even the tram track can be provided with greenery to have more green space in urban surfaces.

All these helps method of green areas helps to absorb the radiation. These vegetation provides moisture to the air, making the surrounding environment cooler.

Cooling technology: As this part of Paris is traditional area, where there are lots of old buildings which will be a part of Paris for next 50 years. The second step taken was to cool the interior space of building by channeling wind. For this the solar chimney's are foreseen as one of the future Eco-friendly solution. As Solar Chimney forces cool air inside the building as warm air rises up.

The cooling technique is not only limited to the building structure, the streets also need to cooled, for this wind drafters are used. These wind drafters works in similar way as the solar chimney, when hot air rises up the cool airs forces down into the drafter which are tunneled to the ground surface. This is the ecological way to cool the streets.

Urban Fabric:

As the material of the urban structures is vital, these are the surfaces which absorb the radiation and release it night creating UHI. In Paris the paved area are proposed to be porous and reflective. In addition with it, the asphalt roads would be replaced by the Eco-friendly materials such as porous concrete which is highly reflective and allows rain water to pass though it. Urban surface covers a large area, we need to provide the solution for this and even in future the facade might be highly reflective as not to accommodate the radiation. Green roofs and cool roofs also covers the horizontal surface area to reduce the UHI.

Reduction in CO2 Emission: The greenhouse gases is directly proportionate to the Urban Heat Island Effect. The reduction of gases like CO2 not only helps in reduction of UHI but also contribute in global warming. In 2050, the cars would go green, there would be no car which uses fossil fuels. The transportation would focus more on the public transport rather than the private ownership. So, car sharing plays important role in future. The vision shown here has the transport system which is one of the efficient, green and futuristic in Paris. Transport system visioned in 2050
