What if we could install the missing industrial program of NYC into existing space that is in need of recycling? Available space exists within empty shipping containers, unused in ports of New Jersey. We can infill a module of containers with manufacturing use. These containers then are installed in undeveloped sites in Long Island City and feed off existing buildings—recycling the existing materials to create new products. Once products have been manufactured onsite, the easy transport of containers can allow for distribution of products on basis of supply and demand within NYC. Small retail containers can pop-up within city blocks to supply for the needs of the area.
