Factories in New York City create diversity among income groups bringing in a demographic of workers, which would otherwise be absent without a place to work. Local manufacturing also decreases emissions so that products do not need to be shipped from places of low relative currency value. With cleaner manufacturing processes factories can be in close proximity to residential areas. These factories I proposed could thus exist under, above, and in complement to the existing infrastructure of the city.
