The project is driven by the increasing capacity of e-waste, the necessity for awareness of ewaste, and the density of New York City. The design of the vertical electronic processing industry would incorporate local and regional contexts to generate a facility focusing on the recycling process as a spectacle within the city, as in the rendition atop the 5th Ave Apple store. The street level could be filled in with a few common electronic retailers that would use the recycled parts in their newly released digital devices. Potentially in the future, 2050, electronic retailers all over New York City can build vertically and connect laterally through a conveyor system, providing an urban inventory of secondary re-cycled raw materials.
